Yo! What Happened to Peace?

Yo! What happened to peace? I’ve been wondering that myself. In a few ways.

1) Yikes. Its been a few years since college now... Peace? Wasn’t that something I felt so passionately about several years ago? I remember organizing marches, dancing to the Infernal Noise Brigade, teach-ins, postering, fasting, all kinds of stuff. Oh, in these few years, though, I’ve learned to vote, earn a living, sort *my* stuff out. But what was it I was for? Oh yeah peace. A project still needing some attention.

2) As a positivity. Yeah I’m still anti-war, that’s easy. But peace? What would it look and feel like? Who would be in charge? What are the economics, opportunities, limitations? What happened to thinking about that?

3) Self righteously. Listen you, powerful elites. Didn't you promise peace would result from war? Isn't that how you dismissed us... again? What happened to to it? Is this it? How about this? Yeah, thanks for that, assholes.

4) As the movement, and all of the exciting things that people do for it. Yo! The Peace movement may not have the numbers it did just a few years ago, but, truth be told, we're winning. We can work it all out. Look what just happened. Yeah! Peace.
